Quick and easy Waffles Recipe

If you wanna cook something sweet just by spending as little time as possible, this recipe is the right one for you. In this post I’ll show you how to make waffles with a very quick and easy way, the ingredients are so simple that should be found right there in your pantry.

Ingredients to make 5 waffles:

125g flour
4g baking powder
20g sugar
220ml milk
1 egg
15ml vegetable oil
vanilla extract
a pinch of salt
unsalted butter (to grease the waffle iron)

Let’s begin by mixing the dry ingredients together (flour, baking powder, sugar and salt).

Also add in the vegetable oil and some drops of vanilla extract. Whisk the mixture for about 1 min. Do not over mix otherwise the waffles will be heavy when cooked.

Now follow the instruction of the waffle iron. Normally, it should be preheated couple minutes ago. Now grease them with unsalted butter to avoid the waffle from sticking to the surface.

Pour the batter in and wait for couple minutes. This time can vary according to the waffle iron you use. You can actually check the red- and the green-light of the waffle iron to know if it cooked.

After being cooked, place the waffle on a rack or a metal basket to release the heat, this way we can prevent it from becoming soggy.

Time for serving: Waffles can be served with maple syrup, with jam, with confectioner’s sugar, or with whipped cream, it’s all up to you.

Cooked waffles can be frozen and heated up in the toaster before serving. If you want to make more waffles, but not at once, you can actually keep the batter covered in the fridge for up to 2 days. Just remember to whisk well before using again, and you’re good to go 😉
