Easy fermented shrimp sauce w/ pork
This dish should be very familiar with vietnamese students who study away from home, because it takes you no time to make but it’s still very desirable to have with steam white rice in a frosty winter.
100g shrimp sauce (can be found at asian grocery store)
300g ground pork (not too lean)
minced shallot, ginger
2 tsp sugar
1 tsp caramel sauce
Step 1: stir the shallot with some vegetable oil until fragrance, then pour in about 100g shrimp sauce. Because the sauce is very salty, be careful with the amount you put in. Stir for about a minute.
Step 2: season with 2 tsp sugar, then add in the ginger, then the pork. Enhance the flavour and colour with a tsp of caramel sauce, then continue to stir until the mixture thickens up. And there you have it.
